Abstract

Borys Oleksiyovych Sokolovsky, the son of the famous soil scientist Academician Oleksiy Nikanorovych Sokolovsky, was born on March 31, 1920. As a military retiree, he worked for many years as a translator in the staff of the scientific library of the National Scientific Center "Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolovsky». Thanks to his efforts to translate books and articles in foreign journals from German and English, the library established a fund for translations of scientific publications, which were a solid support for the research activities of scientists and graduate students of the Institute.
