Abstract

The article presents the main historical stages of research on approbation, implementation, efficiency and ecological significance of soil protection technologies in agricultural production in the Northern Steppe of Ukraine, conducted at the Donetsk anti-erosion research station during the past 50 years. There were described and substantiated the preconditions for the creation of the station and the circumstances that influenced the formation of scientific research activities from the moment of creation up to the present when the station was renamed to the State Enterprise "Experimental farm in Donetsk". We are listed the main scientific achievements in various areas of research of soil protection technologies in the field of soil cultivation, agro technologies of cultivation of agricultural crops, anti-erosion improvement of agro-landscapes with the use of forest-melioration and hydrotechnical means, contouring-reclamation technology, etc.
