Abstract. The article systematizes all types of reclamations and types of reclamation loads for the purpose of analytical assessment of possible ecological and economic risks. It was proved that the methodological solution of the problem of environmental risks can only be successful if there is a clear and substantiated taxonomy of external reclamation loads on the soil cover. It was emphasized the importance of ensuring the stage of designing reclamations, where priority should be given to inventory of problems requiring correction and prospects for further practical use of land. It was shown that reclamation is, as a rule, a rigorous interference with the natural process of mass flows and energy flows in ecosystems. Therefore, any reclamation measure must have a well-grounded basis for application. The main provisions of perspective directions of soil reclamation in Ukraine with the well-grounded approach to preventing negative consequences were formulated.
